Day 02. Cuddling somewhere - spoons in a drawer!
it was far too cold to be getting up at this hour. she understood pre-dawn preparation and she understood that some of the best game just didn’t show up after sunrise, but she didn’t understand why it had to be so damn cold. it was summer. this was ridiculous.
xena groaned and tried to pull gabrielle back against her.
“don’t go yet.”
“i’ve already slept longer than i meant to.” her voice was low and sleepy from behind her, murmuring against her shoulder.
“not my fault.” she wrestled gabrielle’s arm against her chest.
“says the woman who kept me up.”
“it’s cooooold.”
“just roll over to my side when i get up, then.” the hold became tighter. “xena, i’ve got… to…”
but xena had taken the woman’s hand in both of hers placed a kiss on her palm. she lingered, and placed another kiss on her wrist, lacing her fingers through the back of gabrielle’s.
gabrielle sighed a long, slow sigh of defeat.
